The Rainbow

by D.H. Lawrence

All about the Brangwens of English coal mining country. The book mostly comes to focus on Ursula Brangwen, a free thinker. She questions religion, lifestyle, and the sexual mores of the age. As always Lawrence shows great empathy for the woefully marginalized women of the fin de siecle. Lawrence brings Ursula back to the page, along with her sister Gudrun, in his last novel, Women In Love.
